If you look at Billboard's top country songs of 2013 it would lead you to believe that country music is dead, but it's not, it's far from it. Many people are unaware of the music that's out there because the radio forces the same 20 songs down your throat. Country music can be many different things, from the hard edged honky tonk sound to the soft eerie sound of Americana. This year, especially, showcased a variety of different styles with an immense amount of incredible songwriting and proved one thing for sure, country music is alive and well.
